The Forest Preserves of Winnebago County has a long tradition of hosting competitive golf events at each of its unique golf courses.  Our flighted events provide players of all ability levels the opportunity to compete for a championship.  Please take a moment to review the event information provided below.

Seth B. Atwood Crosstown Classic

First Round-  Saturday, June 3rd @ Ledges GC

Final Round- Sunday, June 4th @ Atwood Homestead GC

The Seth B. Atwood Crosstown Classic was born from creative thinking stemmed by a ever-shrinking Ledges Invitational field.

This unique event will consist of 36 holes of stroke play with the field being flighted after round one.  This makes for a fun and enjoyable format for players of all ability levels.

The competition will take place at both Ledges & Atwood Homestead golf courses with the first round being played at Ledges and the champion being crowned following the second round at Atwood Homestead.

Event Entry Fee Shall Include:

36 holes of Golf (cart not included)

Use of Driving Range Prior to Each Round

Box Style Lunch During Each Round

A Commemorative Tournament Tee Gift

Winnebago County Amateur: Open Division, Women's Division & Seniors Division

Saturday, July 8th & Sunday, July 9th

For over 60 years Macktown Golf Course has played host to The Winnebago County Amateur golf tournament.  This 36 hole flighted event was moved from August to July in 2012 and the move has participants raving.  The event offers a unique, yet enjoyable format whereas participants remain in the same group through both rounds resulting in one of the largest tournament fields in the region.

Winnebago County Sr. Amateur

Thursday, September 7th & Friday, September 8th

The Men’s Winnebago Sr. Amateur is open to all golfers 50 years & older.  Players will compete in 36 holes of stroke play and will be flighted after 18 holes of play.
